The church from village Tohtarevo, is a remarkable sample of building art, rare monument of Russian wooden architecture of an extremity 17th f century. It placed in a church complex (two churches and Bell-tower between them) on a coast river Sylva, in ancient village Tohtarevo. The experts and guides award this construction with epithets " a Pearl of wooden architecture ", " a monument conquering by the simplicity and refinement ". For a type the church belongs to most ancient cellular temples, has an altar, "trapeznaja" and church porch. The altar with five walls is superimposed "bochka", above which cupolas is placed. Cupolas (central and above an altar) and "bochka" are covered with a wooden tile - "lemeh". The church has two floors. "Podklet" rather capacious - height it more than three meters - was for a storage of a grain, agricultural instruments of a transactions, gift of church. The church service passed on the second floor. The Moscow architect V. Rjabov has executed measurement of a monument in a 1973, he has executed the project of restoration. The church of the Virgin was transported on territory of a museum and is restored per 1980 -1981 years. Experienced team of the carpenters - restorers under a management A. Asylov, which restored many monuments on territory of a museum, has executed it restoration. The architect G. Katcko has altered the original design project during assembly and restoration.
